I gave an AI control of my browser... here’s what happened

Hey, Joey here.

This week I caught myself yelling “just click the damn button” at my computer.

Spoiler: it didn’t. But an AI browser agent would’ve.

In this issue:

📌 How bots are learning to do the boring clicky stuff for you

📌 Why n8n just raised $60M and what you should steal from them

📌 AI memes are now too good (RIP the internet)

Plus, I made you another video.

Let’s get into it. 👇

DEEP DIVE
AI Browser Agent: The Future of Automation?

You remember macros, right?

Those clunky little tools from the 2000s that let you record your screen clicks like:

They were janky, slow, and broke the second a pop-up showed up.

Well, turns out they didn’t die.

They got cozy with AI… and now we’ve got AI Browser Agents.

  • You give them instructions

  • They hijack your browser

  • They do the task for you

  • You watch (and kinda grin)

Here’s What I Want From These Things

Before we dig into what these agents can actually do, here’s what I wish they could:

1) Act like a smart co-worker – not another intern I have to micromanage. I want to give it goals, not babysit it with step-by-step prompts.

2) Work in the background – let it open tabs, copy stuff, click buttons… all without needing me to watch it like a Twitch stream.

3) Learn from mistakes – so if it messes up once, it doesn’t do it again 10 more times with confidence.

Unrealistic? Maybe. But hey—it’s a wishlist.

What They Can Actually Do (Right Now)

AI Browser Agents are like the useful-but-slightly-dumb intern.

They can do a lot of front-end tasks that AI automations (like n8n or Make) simply can’t:

  • Fill out boring forms (like job apps)

  • Upload files or transfer docs between tools

  • Log into websites, browse, search, and scrape info

  • Tailor your resume & cover letter for different job posts

They’re not super smart (yet), but they’re handy.

A quick visual:

  •  AI Automation (n8n/Make) = back-end.

  • AI Browser Agent = front-end.

Where automations need API access, browser agents just need your login and instructions.

So… When Do You Use Them?

Here’s my rule of thumb:

👉 Recurring, structured tasks? Use AI automation tools like Make or n8n.

👉 One-off, manual browser tasks? Bring in the AI Browser Agent.

Why?

  • Automations are slow to set up, but scalable

  • Browser agents are quick, flexible, and hands-on

  • Automations run quietly in the background

  • Browser agents work while you watch, and you can step in if needed

They’re perfect for the in-between tasks that aren’t worth building a full workflow for… but are still annoying to do yourself.

And the best part? These agents are getting better fast.

Soon, they’ll be able to follow complex instructions, fix mistakes, and maybe even have a personality (I’m naming mine “Clicky”).

TL;DR:

  • AI Browser Agents are like upgraded macros with brains

  • Great for dragging, dropping, uploading, and other manual web tasks

  • Don’t replace full automation—but they fill the gap nicely

  • Give 'em a shot for small annoying tasks you hate doing

Try one. Break it. Learn something.

Then hit reply and tell me how it went. (Or what you wish they could do.)
